X1 carb converted fuel tap

Hi, I have a 2002 X1 that has been converted to carbs. The cheap and nasty fuel tap that was fitted directly to the plastic tank is leaking so need to replace it with something more durable such as a pingle petcock.

Does anyone have any recommendations with pictures of how they replaced/added a fuel tap/adapter to the tank. Need something reliable as the hole is directly over a hot cylinder and don’t wish to become a fireball
